Known as a haven for tiger lovers, Bandhavgarh boasts of a healthy population of the striped cat, among other biodiversity found in the reserve. Apart from tigers, the reserve is home to 34 species of mammals, 260 species of birds, 70 species of butterflies, approximately 40 species of reptile and a wide range of tree species like Mahua, Sal, Jamun, Tendu, Palash etc.  While visiting this beautiful reserve, you can also indulge in observing and photographing the vastly diverse landscape, ranging from grasslands to hills to forest streams. 

Interestingly, the forest scape is very different in the three zones Bandhavgarh boasts of, which are: Tala, Magdhi and Khitauli respectively. While some argue that Tala is the most beautiful zone of the reserve, all three zones or reserve gates offer a different perspective and safari experience. While on a safari, do not miss the historical sites such as ‘sheshshaiya’ or the sleeping Vishnu statue, and ‘Badi gufa’ or the big caves.
